Choosing Cremation or Burial for your Child is a very personal decision. If you have strong personal or religious feelings about either choice, don’t ignore those feelings.
Burial will be your Childs final resting place. Some cemeteries are more flexible than others about what they will permit and have varying Burial fees. Heartfelt Funerals will be able to guide you regarding these. Some may have special restrictions regarding headstones and what is allowed on the gravesite. There may be a children’s section which can be more comforting than others. You may decide to purchase a burial site that allows other Family members to be buried there when their time comes. There may be regulations regarding plaques or headstones. When your child is buried, a marker with your baby’s name is placed on the grave. A plaque or headstone may be placed some time later. Allow yourself time to think about what you would like on the plaque or headstone.
Cremation, there are no restrictions on what you do with your Childs Ashes. You may decide to bury your Childs Ashes or to scatter them. Or you may want to keep them at home with you.
If you choose cremation you don’t have to decide right away on what you would like to do with their Ashes. You can wait and do what is best for you when you are ready.
You have a number of choices; a few of those are listed below:
Your Childs Ashes can be buried with another Family Member. We are able to organise this with you when we meet.
You may choose to take your Childs Ashes home to scatter when you are ready.
Your Childs Ashes do not have to be kept in a “traditional” Urn. Heartfelt Funerals have a beautiful range of Keepsake Urns available. Some are able to be engraved with a personal message.
Some parents find that they want a place to visit later on. You might want to have a park bench put in or have a tree planted in your baby’s memory.
You are able to discuss all your options further when you meet with your Funeral Director from Heartfelt Funerals.
