Butterfly Release

The release of Monarch Butterflies adds a truly beautiful, symbolic and memorable touch to a service to honour the memory of your loved one. Their release can create a peaceful, soothing, quiet, and moving experience providing family and friends with a special way to express their final goodbyes. The Butterflies fill the sky with a memorable and graceful display.
Your loved one’s service is an extremely personal and emotional journey.
Butterfly releases are not limited to graveside services or memorials. Butterflies can be released at any location you choose. This can create an uplifting tribute when scattering Ashes or laying a memorial plaque.  The Butterflies can also be released for an Anniversary, Birthday or any other special day celebrated by your family.
* From special individual butterfly release boxes.  Family and Friends can release their own butterfly from the palm of their hands.
* In-masse where a number of butterflies can be released from an elegant butterfly release cage.

You could play a beautiful piece of music or read a poem in conjunction with the butterfly release.  Heartfelt Funerals are able to arrange this for your loved ones service if you wish.

Don’t cry for me please don’t be sad
Hold on to the memories of the times we both had
Don’t dwell on dark thoughts hold on tight to your wishes
Sending you hugs and butterfly kisses

I walk beside you I am there all day long
I am right here but you think I am gone
You don’t see me but I can see you
Whatever the problems I will help get you through

I am the wind in your hair and sand in your toes
Butterfly kisses that you feel on your nose
I am with you at sunrise and in sunset
But you can’t see me is my one regret

I sit right beside you when you are sad
As you look through the photos of times we both had
I watch you sleeping I hold you so tight
Before I go I kiss you goodnight

I will watch over you from heaven above
Forever you will be my one true love
Hold on to your dreams and all your wishes
Sending you hugs and butterfly kisses

Other Cultural beliefs about Butterflies
Other cultures equate the Butterfly with the endurance and hope of the human soul. In some Judeo-Christian traditions Butterflies can even represent resurrection. For this reason, Butterflies hold a special significance when seen at Funerals. Ancient inhabitants of Mexico held Butterflies in such high regard that they even constructed a palace dedicated to them outside Mexico City called the Palace of the Mariposa.

Butterfly Native American Legend
According to an Native American Legend, if anyone desires a wish to come true they must first capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it.
Since a butterfly can make no sound, the butterfly cannot reveal the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all.
So, according to legend, by making a wish and giving the butterfly its freedom the wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted.
