Please join us for a celebration of Robert’s life.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
Robert’s was a life lived in service of others,
in loyalty to his friends and in love and pride for his family.
We will be sharing our favourite stories and memories to laugh,
to cry and to remember a true gentleman who will be dearly missed.
Robert will remain forever in Leigh’s heart and
live on through his children Chelsea and Riley.
He will be sadly missed by his parents Ron and Val.
Taken too soon at 53, he was a dearly loved
son-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Thank you for teaching us how to live a life of
love, loyalty, service and community.
“Life is a Highway”
As this is a celebration, we encourage you to honour
our country boy, a true club man, a loyal football and V8’s fan
and avid four-wheel driver by wearing something
that connected you with Robert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to The Heart Foundation.
Family and Friends are respectfully invited to the celebration of Robert’s life on Wednesday the 3rd of July, commencing at 10:00am. The service will be taking place at Lighthouse Church, Bridgeman Downs. (See Map Below)

June 27, 2024 at 9:02 amDear Leigh, Chelsea and Riley,
I had the pleasure of working with Rob firstly on a project years ago and more recently we were peers in Alex McMahon’s team at Ampol. Rob was always there to support and have a great chat. He was a great coach and mentor to many people at Ampol and really shone in this space. On a personal note what I would say is one thing that struck me about Rob – was how much he loved his family. I loved hearing the sheer joy in his voice when he spoke with pure love and adoration for his family. I spoke to Rob the day before I was made aware of his passing. I go over the conversation we had that day – so many times…and I am still in disbelief that he is no longer with us. My heart breaks for you – and I cannot imagine what a loss it is to your family. Rob leaves behind a legacy of what it is to be a true gentleman, what it is to be loyal and great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and the difficult road ahead. I have no doubt Rob will always be with you watching from a distance with such pride and love.
My deepest condolences to you all. Lisa White

June 28, 2024 at 8:15 pmDear Leigh, Chelsea and Riley,
Our deepest condolences to you all. May Rob’s memory forever live on in each and everyone of you.
I was so lucky to meet Rob working along side him as we opened up our new Metro Format sites. Once Rob got wind of what i did at Ampol he would always ask me “Michelle, please tell me why we range Mr Sheen?”. I would respond “Rob, people use it to wipe down their furniture”. Rob would comment “Nothing wrong with a paper towel!”. Upon every visit he would ask me if i had deleted Mr Sheen yet. The day finally came where Mr Sheen was being deleted, i rang Rob especially to tell him. He told me “See, told you it was rubbish!”.
As you know, Rob was one of the cool guys, so down to earth and easy to talk too. No job was too hard and what a wealth of knowledge he was. What a guy!
Rob you leave behind a legacy with Ampol and you will never be forgotten. Rest Easy and i will always think of you when i wipe down my furniture with Mr Sheen.
Leigh, Chelsea and Riley, our deepest condolences from all of us at Ampol. Sending lots of love and prayers to get through this difficult time.
xx Michelle Margaritis
